This is my 34th year of teaching Elementary Music. I started teaching at Stewart School in 1980 and at that time I taught grades K-6 and grades 4-6 at the Brighton Elementary school.
When Brighton closed they realigned the schools and I taught K-3 up until the Fall of 2012 when the Washington Schools, once again, realigned and now I teach Preschool-2nd grade.
I have two children. My daughter Leah, is a dental assistant and my son, James, is a student at the University of Iowa.
I have been singing for as long as I can remember. One of the reasons I enjoy teaching music is that I love to see the joy that is reflected when children sing and play music.
Another reason is that I think music is a life long skill that can be enjoyed at any age.
I love helping young children discover the joy and music and it's very rewarding to watch them grow and continue to use their musical skills.
